Bobby Corkish
Solo Horn
Musician (Musn) Bobby Corkish began playing the Tenor Horn at age seven with Rushen Silver Band in the south of the Isle of Man. He later became a member of the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain for five years under the direction of the late Bramwell Tovey.
In 2013, Musn Corkish moved to Manchester to begin his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) under the tuition of Sheona White and Owen Farr where he was appointed first Horn of The Fairey Band in Stockport. With them, Musn Corkish performed across all of Europe, including high profile concerts in Berlin and Paris. He featured on showcase BBC and Sky Arts productions, including ‘A day in the life’, ‘Battle of the Brass Bands’ and ‘A Brass Band Wonderland’, accompanying renowned artists and celebrities such as Russell Watson, Jason Manford and Collabro as well as a live broadcast on BBC Radio 3 with the award winning A4 Brass Quartet.
Upon completion of his studies at the RNCM in 2017, Musn Corkish relocated from Manchester to South Wales to join The Cory Band, travelling Europe and America. He contributed to the bands' success in winning every major brass band contest, including the European, British Open and National Championships of Great Britain - known as the 2019 'Grand Slam'.
Musn Corkish joined the British Army in October 2021, and upon completion of Basic and Initial Trade Training, was assigned to British Army Band Tidworth where he currently occupies the Solo horn seat.
